Architectural Photographer Tasmania
Adam Gibson
This is an overview of my work from recent years, working in Tasmania as an architectural photographer for many of Tasmania's leading architectural practices.
Over the years I have had the pleasure of photographing many homes, shacks, public spaces and commercial buildings for architects and builders. The Tasmanian architecture scene has seen a great boost in momentum in recent years, and the need for extremely high-quality photography has never been more important.
My images have been published in most of Australia's best publications and used to present projects in submissions for the Tasmanian Architectural Awards each year.
My process is centered around identifying the most iconic moments within a building, then mapping the movement of light through the space, in order to capture the most striking image possible. Bold, graphic compositions that explain the intention of the design and illustrate detail is my primary objective.
I use medium format, digital equipment to achieve a distinctive, superior image output. Working alone allows me to be nimble and engage with the architect throughout the shoot without distraction, producing results which are both a collaboration and a product of my crafted process.
Working with many of Tasmania's leading architects such as Taylor & Hinds, Preston Lane, Bence Mulcahy, Dock4, Archier, Room11, JAWS and more, I have developed a great working relationship with their teams, and have been privileged enough to capture the vision of many of their projects in pictures.
The following is a selection of some of my favourite projects that I have photographed recently.
